What's New in 1.5.5-beta78
RELEASE NOTES · BETA78 · BETA77 · BETA76 · BETA75
Newest first. Crow Trader 1.5.5-beta78 is about honest numbers: backtests and stats now count fees the way the bot trades. Below it are the notes for beta77, beta76 and beta75.
Your version updates itself? It offers new versions on its own. Mac on beta72 or older, or Windows on beta73 or older? Download the latest version once — after that, Crow Trader keeps itself up to date.
1.5.5-beta78 — honest numbers
Backtests
- Backtests count both fees. Open positions are valued at the end ("Open at end"). Max drawdown is measured from the equity curve. Every run saves its trade list.
- Old backtests were recalculated once from their saved orders. Runs without saved orders keep their old number with the tag "Could not recalculate — re-run". Backtesting → Past backtests lists them with a Re-run button.
- On recalculated runs, "Trades" counts closed positions; DCA buys count once.
Slippage (optional)
- New switch, off by default. When on, each buy and sell fills about 0.06 % worse. Backtests and paper trading only — live trades are never changed by it.
When signals are checked
- Strategy signals are checked once per finished candle of the card's own time frame (a 1m card every minute, a 15m card every 15 minutes), the same in live, paper and backtest. A buy can come up to one candle later than before.
- Gain target, stop-loss, trailing, Sell only and grid take-profit still check the price every few seconds.
Sells
- Every sell shows why it happened, and stats break down by reason.
- Profit sells (gain target, trailing take-profit, grid take-profit, spread trailing) never sell below your fees. Stop-loss, Sell only, manual and trend exits are not blocked.
- Zero-amount dust write-offs no longer count as losses in your stats.
Strategies
- Cooldown now works on EMA Cross, EMA/EMA and EMA Sniper.
- Grid remembers the step it bought at and sells one step up, never below fees. A grid whose steps cannot cover fees is refused when you save it. A grid-ladder rounding bug on low-priced pairs is fixed. Refused card edits now show the reason.
- EMA Sniper is now in the strategy list. It buys on a cross up when the spread is at least your Buy spread, and sells with spread trailing (default 0.1 % pullback from the widest spread), only above fees. No gain target. After a DCA buy it restarts tracking from that buy.
Speed
- Ticks are faster and lighter. Old log noise was cleaned up once.
1.5.5-beta77 — Crow Brain
- New read-only page Live Trading → Crow Brain, "How your crow thinks": market data → indicators (real values) → Selene guards (blocked red, fired amber) → BUY / HOLD / SELL, for every card, every tick.
- Live and paper cards; "Show paper" switch (remembered); paper cards have a dashed ring.
- A profitable sell plays the Crow Quest win moment; big wins get the jackpot banner; losses stay calm.
- Watch mode hides the header, sidebar and footer for streams; Esc or X leaves it.
- It cannot trade, and it costs nothing when the page is closed. It is not AI: it shows the bot's own rules.
1.5.5-beta76 — Sell only, P/L all time
- Sell only: one button next to a card's switch. No new buys, keeps selling by the card's own rules, switches off when sold out. "Buy again" cancels it. Never places its own sell and never touches coins the bot did not buy. Does not override a loss-limit pause.
- P/L ALL TIME: new stats box and an ALL TIME line on every card. Closed trades, after fees, per quote, live and paper apart. Deleted cards are kept from beta76 on.
- Balance refresh: wallet numbers and the Capital bar refresh about every 30 seconds; a failed read keeps your last good balance.
- Clearer wording: untracked coins are never sold automatically (sell by hand or use Sell Dust); the loss limit says "Buys paused."; TRADES shows open ones apart (e.g. "3 · 1 open").
- The guard system formerly called Sentinel is now named Selene.
1.5.5-beta75 — Crow Quest
- Your bot is now a game: XP from profitable sells, levels from Fledgling to Crow King, 15 badges, a green-day streak.
- Fair by design: 20 XP per 1 % profit, up to 60 per sell. Trade count never earns XP. Paper and live earn the same XP.
- Smart habits earn XP: backtest first, paper practice, stop-loss set, a card left steady for 7 days in profit (capped per day).
- Win moments: glow and coin "clink", coin rain, and a 2-second JACKPOT banner for 3 %+ wins. Losses get a calm grey glow.
- Configuration → Game: Effects Party / Calm / Off, Sounds, notifications Off / Big wins only / All wins, daily goal, previews, reset.
- Mac and Windows win notifications while the bot runs in the background. Private: nothing is sent anywhere.
Automatic updates (beta73 Mac, beta74 Windows)
- The bot checks for updates every 8 hours, shows "Update available", and installs with one click.
- Every update is signed and checked before it installs: a release signature, plus Apple notarization on Mac or Authenticode on Windows.
- Your data is backed up first. If a new version does not start correctly, the bot puts the previous version back by itself. The last 3 versions are kept.
- The update waits until no order is being placed or checked.
Fixes from beta69 to beta74
- Live cards flash on every sell, and trade sounds play on every screen (beta75). Live trades feed on the Dashboard with card pulses and crow reactions (beta71). The 7-day P/L on cards always shows its number (beta74).
- Exchanges (beta72): candle gaps filled on all exchanges; KuCoin and Coinbase connection fix; lot-size rounding on sells; Kraken history limits handled honestly; Poloniex removed; no more freeze when starting after hours offline.
- Strategies (beta69–70): Double EMA Gainer buys on a fresh cross-up; RSI fixed for EMA strategies; Crow EMA Sniper cross-up entry and working stop-loss; Strategy Guide diagrams.
- Account settings layout fixed (beta74). Full license is $199 USD, paid in ADA.
Public beta. Expect bugs and updates. Crypto trading carries substantial risk of loss. Crow Trader is software, not financial advice.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- How do I get the newest version?
- If your version already updates itself (Mac beta73 or newer, Windows beta74 or newer), it offers the update on its own. Otherwise download the latest version once from crowtrader.com/download; after that it updates itself.
- Do my live trades change in beta78?
- Strategy signals are now checked on the finished candle of the card's own time frame, so a buy can come up to one candle later. Profit sells never go below your fees. Price exits still check every few seconds. Slippage never applies to live trades.
- Can I roll back an update?
- Yes. If a new version does not start correctly, the bot restores the previous version by itself. The last 3 versions are kept, and Configuration → About lets you roll back by hand.
- Is Crow Trader finished software?
- Crow Trader is a public beta. Expect bugs and updates. Paper trading and backtesting are the recommended starting point, and past performance — paper or live — never guarantees future results.
